Insider Experience in Saigon
Been there recently?
Tucked among busy central streets, Tao Dan Park is a little green oasis where in every early morning local folks come around for taichi exercise or a few jogging laps. There is a corner with special interest niche which is the bird café where (mostly) men come daily to show off their prized birds while having their day break coffee. Let’s get off the beatten track to mingle up among the bird-and-man crowd.
After a short walk in the park, get back to course – let’s have a bowl of pho like the locals do and then go to a food market. Pho unofficially is Vietnamese national dish. Despite its outward simplicity, pho is underpinned with a complex arrangement of flavors and textures. At the market, we sneak through the buzzing crowd and takes in all the sights and sounds. Enjoy this riot – it happens every day.
Last we visit a small house, invisible to any common folks but unexpectedly keeps a secret cellar full of weapons and armaments used by former VC commandos during the 1960s. From a number of places like this, VC secrest forces launched a series of supprise attacks against US and South Vietnam commanding offices.Hop on the vechicle and drive back to the hotel. End of the tour.
